Studio access is designed to accommodate your individual schedule. Unless otherwise noted, residents may access Big Sky between 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM, allowing you the flexibility to structure your studio time around your own creative practice.

SOMETHING

The residency fee is $325 per month, for a total of $975 for the three-month residency. This fee covers four days of open studio access per week, 25 lbs of clay or unlimited use of coe 96 glass offcuts, use of Big Sky’s shared studio equipment, materials/tools, and designated storage space. Three Moon Residents receive up to 2 ^04 bisque firings and one ^6 glaze firing. Additional materials (clay /firing/ glass panels) are offered at an exclusive residency discount.

Fine by us! You are welcome to use your time at the residency how you wish, whether it’s working on a specific project or surrounding yourself with daily creativity to help spark and move your ideas forward. We believe productivity is whatever moves your mind forward.

The energy of the space lends itself well to the spirit of creativity! We are close to CTA, located right off the #72 North Ave Bus. Apart from the amenities listed in our prospectus, Big Sky is situated two blocks from Humboldt Park, the perfect place for long autumn walks to work through ideas or take a lunch break. We’re lucky enough to be right across the street from Cermak Produce, an incredible grocery store that comes in handy on those long studio days when deciding what’s for dinner isn’t exactly at the top of the priority list.

Apart from physical & spacial amentities, Three Moons gives artisans and artists something that can be hard to come by, dedicated time and space. For three uninterrupted months, residents have consistent access to Big Sky’s studio, tools, equipment, and creative community—without the pressure of a prescribed curriculum, project, or outcome

For the safety, accessibility, and comfort of our studio community, Big Sky does not permit children under the age of 18 or unattended pets in the studio under normal circumstances. Exceptions may be considered in the event of an emergency or other extenuating circumstance and require prior written approval from Big Sky.
