The DF Lace Collection includes: 6” side dish, 8” dinner plate, 10” oval platter
I’ve named this series DERMA FIDIOU, as it’s made from a woven lace piece my great grandmother made that resembles snakeskin to me. The texture is so unique, they are a cornerstone of my summer XWRIO collection (pronounced hor-io, meaning village). I’m astral projecting myself through working out this collection, as I cant make it to the village this year, so I’m bringing the island feel to this festering wound of a country, jk.
I have been sitting on a treasure trove of my textiles made my various members of my family. My great grandmother Limbrini was a prolific crocheter, embroideress. My Yiayia was an expert seamstress and knitter. And then I realized I can emboss the clay with these relics and make the most beautiful patterns to enjoy a meal off of.
